Forest Rebuilding

Forest rebuilding trees tractors agriculture and plants

More people are worried about increased levels of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, producing drastic changes, globally. Forests are natural carbon filters considered, because trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as they grow, releasing oxygen and storing carbon in their leaves and wood.

Once cut, a tree ceases to absorb carbon dioxide. If wood is used for firewood or left to rot on the ground, the carbon dioxide that we store will be released back into the atmosphere. If wood is used to produce certain goods, such as paper or furniture, the carbon is still stored in wood. This is one of the main reasons it is important to recycle paper and wood products whenever we can, instead of throwing them in landfills.
